1st ED. 192pp. 13 b/w plates. vg cond. dj fair, chipped & rubbed on edges, 7mm piece missing from head of spine, repair at foot of spine, 65mm closed tear top edge on back. The author, a professional archaeologist and amateur diver, whose interest in underwater archaeology led him to dive and organise the first underwater expedition in Britain. It was in the Isles of Scilly and its original purpose was to look for archaeological sites and historic wrecks, but as it progressed, the divers found themselves more and more fascinated by many other aspects of the sea. |
