Description Hand coloured. Size 38cm x 45cm (15" x 18"). The Germans proclaimed that on and after February 18th 1915 the waters around Great Britain and Ireland including the English Channel were a war region and that every enemy merchant vessel found in that region would be destroyed without it always being possible to warn the crew or passegers. The illustration of the German submarine shows the exhaust pipe, the twin periscopes and the two rear torpedo tubes.
